Creating a Mandala Garden
In June we got some new sea buckthorn plants and around one of them we decided to create a small mandala garden.
A mandala garden's design is based on the ancient spiritual and cultural symbol of the mandala. It is characterized by a circular shape, with pathways that radiate out from a central point and often have different sections devoted to different types of plants or themes. The design is meant to symbolize wholeness, balance, and harmony, and can be used for both ornamental and functional gardening purposes.
In a functional mandala garden, the different sections may contain a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers, organized in a way that maximizes space and helps to create a sustainable ecosystem. In an ornamental mandala garden, the focus may be more on the aesthetic qualities of the plants and the overall design, rather than its practical aspects. Regardless of its purpose, the mandala garden is often seen as a way to bring beauty, peace, and balance to its surroundings.
