We finally start the harvest season
Did I mention that the spring and summer 2017 have been awfully cold and rainy? I think I have, in every post since March! It's true, but I am very glad to tell you that August has finally been somewhat nicer.
Arugula, also known as rocket or rucola, is a vegetable that is widely used in salads and cooking. It is native to the Mediterranean region and has been consumed for thousands of years for its strong, pungent flavor and nutritional benefits.
Arugula has a distinct, slightly bitter flavor that is often described as spicy or peppery. It is a popular ingredient in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, and is often used in salads, pasta dishes, pizzas, and sandwiches. Arugula is a rich source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and K, as well as iron and calcium.
In addition to its culinary uses, arugula is also used for its medicinal properties. It has been used for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and is believed to have a positive impact on cardiovascular health and the digestive system.
Arugula is a fast-growing, low-maintenance plant that is easy to grow in a variety of climates. It is often grown in gardens and on farms, and is also widely available in grocery stores and farmers' markets.
