Raised beds are gardening structures in which the soil is elevated above the surrounding ground. They are typically made by mounding soil and compost into beds, which can be anywhere from a few centimeters to a meter, and can be of any length or width. The beds are usually bordered with wood, stones, bricks, or other materials to contain the soil and compost mixture.
